Our school was established in 1966 by the Salesian Sisters. The attitudes and values we teach are firmly grounded in the traditions of Catholic education.

Mary Help of Christians serves an underprivileged community offering a fully functional Pre-School and Junior Primary School in Booysens Johannesburg, with the principles and values of the Salesian Spirit of St Don Bosco and St Mary Mazzerrello.
Our qualified and dedicated teachers gently encourage and nurture each child, while following the GDE CAPS curriculum. We also offer extra-curricula sports and computer lessons.
While we embrace all religions, Mary Help of Christians is a Catholic school which gives a solid grounding in Christian values teaching acceptance, caring and respect for others.
Since opening in 1966, the sisters - with the help of numerous benefactors and parents - have continued to expand the school to provide additional classrooms, toilets and play areas.
Most of our parents have full day jobs, so our school opens at 06h30 in the morning providing a safe environment for your child. An aftercare facility is available from 13h30 to 17h30.
